6. Solution Driven:
To be solution driven is antithetical to being problem driven. One of the characteristics of a Kingdom Leader is that he or she is solution driven. They always try to solve problems rather than creating or amplifying them. Most times, the problems are not theirs but that of others. They bear the burdens of others. The foundation for God using them is the acceptance of the burden to help others overcome their own problems.
Nehemiah was burdened for Jerusalem from the evil report he got even while he was at the palace of the King in the midst of enjoyment and happiness.
In his own words; “And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven”. Nehemiah 1:4
After this incident above, Nehemiah began to seek solution with God in prayer and fasting. He was so burdened in his quest for the solution such that the King noticed.
David was also solution driven. When Goliath was busy terrorizing the whole land of Israel and David happened to have been sent to give food to his brothers by their father. He saw the problem of Israel and helped to confront it.
This brings me to the type of leadership as related to problem solving.
1. A Thermostat Leader
2. A Thermometer Leader
A Thermostat leader is a solution driven leader. A thermostat changes the temperature while a thermometer reports the temperature.
In other words, a thermostat solves problems by changing the temperature while a thermometer simply reports the problems.
God has called spiritual leaders to bear the burden of His people. There is a book titled: WHY LEADERS EAT LAST.
BECAUSE THEY ARE LEADERS, THEIR JOBS IS TO HELP OTHERS GET BETTER.
However, there are problems the Leader cannot solve by himself or herself. This is where the leader begin to seek God’s face and favor his or her people.
Examples of Solution Driven Leaders in the Bible
We are called to be burden bearer as Spiritual Leaders
We are supposed to be solution-driven as against problem-driven.
